Product Description
Toshiba 32LV67 32″ Regza W LCD HDTV and DVD ComboAmazon.com Product Description
Now you can play your entertainment library on one versatile machine. Since the 32LV67 has both a DVD player and a 32-inch screen, you won’t have to worry about connecting different electronic components in order to watch your favorite program. This convenience is matched only by its smart, stylish design.

The Value of LCD TVs
Aside from their obvious aesthetic value, LCD TVs are much more practical in the home than CRT (tube-style) televisions. They take up a smaller footprint, and thus use up less floor space in the room. Also, LCD TVs are lighter and easier to move around when cleaning or redecorating. The 32LV67 is only 4.65 inches deep and weighs less than 37 pounds. Best of all, LCD screens use less power than CRTs and plasma screens.

Full-Featured DVD Player
The 32LV67 includes an integrated, slot-loading DVD player. It has upconverting technology that improves the standard picture definition of regular DVDs to match the 1366 x 768 (720p HDTV) display resolution of the 32LV67.

Connections
The set has a built-in digital television tuner, so out of the box it can receive digital broadcast ATSC signals and QAM signals used by most digital cable providers. It also has a built-in 181-channel NTSC tuner, so it can also accept traditional analog signals. It is also capable of these connections:

  • HDMI inputs: 3
  • ColorStream HD component video inputs: 2
  • PC monitor input: 1 (VGA 15 Pin D-Sub)
  • RF input: 1 rear
  • A/V inputs: 2 (rear and side)
  • Optical audio output: 1

Audio
The SoundStrip speaker system hides the unit’s speakers in a thin strip bordering the screen. They’re powerful enough to deliver big stereo sound, but they don’t add significantly to the size of the set.

Toshiba’s StableSound feature maintains television volume within a preset range regardless of the source signal. This is an extremely useful feature when transitioning between a quiet television program and a very loud commercial advertisement or when changing channels.

SRS WOW, a combination of SRS 3D, TruBass, and Focus sound-expanding systems, create a 3-D sound field with improved bass response over standard TV audio and create directed, three-dimensional audio sweet spot for maximum enjoyment. The cabinet includes stereo speakers, but the TV also has optical digital output for connecting to your audio system.

Other Features
Channel browser shows you thumb-nail images of the last five channels you’ve watched at the touch of a button. You can also see previews of your preset Favorite Channels along the bottom of the screen.

  1. 33 year old lawyer Says:

    Updated review:

I am not a techie, so this review is for the ordinary people out there. This was bought for me by my stepdad after my tv (from 1987) finally broke down.

So far, I have enjoyed the tv for almost 8 months, and have experienced no problems with it whatsoever, but it may not be worth what was paid for it–I believe he bought it at a specialty retail brick and mortar, and paid about $1400 in December of 2006 (Ouch). For less than that–I think some Amazon merchants were at $900 around that time, I would buy it again.

I do not have cable or digital tv, and I have to say the channel setup was not well designed. For the first 6 months I had this, I was unable to receive any HD channels, and the reception for regular channels was actually quite a bit worse than my 12″ RCA, despite the fact that I bought a $60 HD rabbit ears atenna for the REGZA. The typical channel setup did not “pick up” the HD channels. By total accident, just recently, while screwing around with the remote one day when I thought it was broken, and pressing all the buttons, I somehow managed to pickup the additional HD channels. All I can say to non-technical folks is that there IS a way to pick them up, so delve into that instruction manual! What happens is that if you have done the right setup, you will see both the regular channel, such as 24, and then when you move the channel button forward, the next channel will be the HD one, e.g. 24-1. The HD channel number has a small green antenna icon that appears next to it, e.g. 24-1 (icon).

Some channels emit better HD than others. The TV will sometimes indicate a low HD signal, and even on the CBS HD channel, there are times when the picture becomes still, and green blocks appear on screen for a moment. So, I have recently been having to watch the non HD version of CBS, which is very poor on this tv.

I also don’t notice much difference in playing dvds on here than standard dvd players. Of course, I suspect the dvds were not created in high def, so if you are watching movies from the 70s, 80s, 90s, etc., which is mostly what I watch, they probably look the same regardless of which player you use. Am looking forward to watching ‘300′ on this thing!

Aspect ratio varies depending on what program/DVD you are watching, so bear that in mind when you select size. Some of my favorite DVDs have room at the sides, assuming you want the people to look normal. DVD playing is solid–no excessive skipping, have noticed no errors at all in the time I have had it, with fairly heavy usage. DVD sensitivity is pretty high–in other words, even a small smear on a DVD will stop the DVD entirely, and you will be forced to extract it and wipe it off.

There is a significant time lag when you try to do more than one thing at a time. So, for instance, if you want to switch from dvd to tv, and then adjust the volume, the volume will not work for about 3 to 5 full seconds. Same with changing a channel and changing volume. If you are a clicker who moves around a lot, this is a tad aggravating.

Finally, not sure how to measure this, but this television gets quite warm. Since this is my only lcd, tough to compare it, but I will say that the heat is noticeable and significant, to the point that I do not keep this tv on for “background”. I doubt it’s an energy saver.

Amazing how thin and easy to move this tv is, yet very stable…love that part of it. And having the dvd inside is great…no cords and wires all around :) If you can’t find the remote, manual controls work well. DVD controls are on the side; tv controls on the bottom of the screen.

(BTW, one commenter says I have rated the wrong item–I have a Toshiba REGZA of this size, that looks identical to the picture, so if I am not rating the right thing, I am rating something pretty close…)

When I connected the TV to the electric outlet it began to throw large amounts of white smoke with a toxic smell. This is very disappointing as this TV set apparently was high rated.

I buy a lot from amazon and never experienced any problems before.

Now I’m waiting for amazon response in order to return this item and have a refund.

The TV set looks very nice aesthetically, however, this in not very relevant if it doesn’t work.

Next time I would stick with the traditional brands.

    Leave TOSHIBA for the laptops.

  3. Rodriguez Henriquez Maria Says:

Excelente Televisor!!!, Altamente Recomendado, fácil de instalar, buena calidad de imagen, el menú muy completo y fácil de usar. El Dvd incorporado ahorra mucho espacio, que lástima que no soporte el formato HD-DVD.

  4. Film Watcher Says:

The screen is moderately clear, I would say fuzzy to look at and after two months with very little use, the dvd player no longer works. It is beyond the return date, so now we are stuck with a crappy tv and no dvd player. Guess you get what you pay for.

  5. Richard P. Finley Says:

Thought I would by a TV for the bedroom after buying a Sony for the family room After reading the reviews on the Toshiba and having bought several items from Amazon thought the 32 inch was a good buy.

The problem occured with the shipping it took 13 days to arrive with 4 calls to Amazon and 3 calls each to two different shippers “Eagle Shipping” and “Central Fright” “White Glove” consisted of the delivery man putting the box on the pourch and asking for a signiture. Hears the kicker after I opened up the box and tryed to attach the stand there were no bolts for the stand. I guess it was not my week Be carefull
